First Responders going Miles for Miles Silent Auction

On September 29th, 2024, the Sioux Falls community came together in an incredible show of support for the “Miles for Miles” event, held to benefit the Engberg family. Miles Engberg, the 5-year-old son of Sioux Falls Firefighter Eric Engberg, is courageously battling Batten Disease, and the outpouring of generosity was truly inspiring.
This family-friendly event included a delicious meal and exciting activities such as the Kids Firefighter Challenge, a thrilling bike course, and the Kids SWAT Laser Tag Course. Local first responders, including firefighters, police officers, and 911 dispatchers, enjoyed these fun-filled activities with their families, making it a day to remember.
We are thrilled to announce that the silent auction and event activities raised over $25,000 for the Engberg family. This amount will go towards helping Miles and his family during this challenging time.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and volunteered. Your kindness and generosity are what make our community so special. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of those who give so much to protect and serve us. #MilesForMiles #SiouxFallsStrong #FirstRespondersFamily #BattenDiseaseAwareness
