First Responders Foundation Douglas County Corrections Chapter
The mission of the First Responders Foundation Douglas County Corrections Chapter is to serve and honor all our Correctional Officers and their families, build appreciation and respect for their work, and enhance public safety.

The Douglas County Corrections Chapter is an extension of the First Responders Foundation. The Chapter is led by local community members who are best equipped to address the needs of Correctional Officers in the Douglas County. Funds raised here stay in Douglas County and are used to further our mission.  The Chapter partners directly with other Omaha metro area first responders and citizens to provide what is needed.

The Douglas County Corrections Chapter Supports

Douglas County Correctional Center was opened in July 1979. In June 2005, construction of the Correctional Center was completed, bringing our total capacity to 1,449 beds.  In 2016, Douglas County voters approved a public safety bond, a portion of which was allotted for the renovation of identified areas within the Correctional Center to include projects for painting, plumbing, windows, and lighting to create a more energy-efficient and safe environment.
