Hand Sanitizer brings Patriarch Distillers & the First Responders Foundation Together

Patriarch Distillers Inc. is distributing hand sanitizers for first responders and health care workers in cooperation with the First Responders Foundation.

Patriarch Distillers/Soldier Valley Spirits is a small craft distillery that has changed production over from spirit-based consumables to a hand sanitizer during the pandemic. They hope the hand cleaning application will help slow down the COVID- 19 virus.

Congressman Don Bacon Coordinates the Distribution

Patriarch Distillers contacted Congressman Don Bacon’s office for help with the distribution and delivery of the hand sanitizer.  Heart-wrenching requests have been coming in daily and they needed help deciphering who should receive the much needed and limited supply.

That is where the First Responders Foundation comes in!  Congressman Bacon contacted Al Batschelet, President and CEO of the Foundation and asked for the Foundation’s assistance.  Al was happy to volunteer the assistance of the staff as the distribution of this urgently needed product is perfectly in line with the mission of the Foundation.  The mission of the First Responders Foundation is not only to honor and respect first responders and their families but to enhance public safety.

Hand Sanitizer Delivered to the Omaha Fire Department

Congressman Don Bacon, Felix Ungerman, Congressman Bacon’s Deputy Chief of Staff,  Jodi Teal, First Responders Foundation VP of Operations and Development, and Patriarch Distillers Inc. owner Jeff Hadden, and assistant Dave Young, had the pleasure of dropping off 58 gallons of hand sanitizer to the Omaha Fire Department this morning. Fire Chief Dan Olsen and Battalion Chief Scott Fitzpatrick were at Fire Station #1 where they received the donation with appreciation.  Mayor Jean Stothert, also in attendance, thanked Jeff Hadden for the contribution on behalf of the City of Omaha.  Patriarch Distillers also thanks the numerous businesses that have helped make all of this possible.

The distillery has been running full strength to make as much hand sanitizer as possible.  The batch that was delivered to the fire department took three days to make and was produced following the FDA’s specific guidelines.  The guidelines limit ingredients to only those necessary for proper sanitization and do not include added skin or aroma enhancers.  Those ingredients are; Glycerol, Ethanol, Hydrogen Peroxide and water, again per FDA guidelines.

Please consider the almost forgotten way of “neighbor helping neighbor” and please stay kind to one another.”
