The First Responders Foundation is pleased to announce Gary Steiner, as Chairman of the Board in 2020. Gary will be instrumental in helping the Foundation fulfill its mission to serve and honor all our First Responders and their families, build appreciation and respect for their work, and to enhance public safety.
Gary formed Steiner Consulting, Inc. in 2014 after 20 years of nonprofit management and fundraising work. His firm works with mid-sized nonprofits to develop visionary plans and to secure the resources needed to turn those visions into realities.
Gary Steiner – New Board President
Gary’s last position was serving as Executive Director of the Millard Public Schools Foundation where he oversaw fundraising and managed a staff of more than 275 employees. Prior to that, he was Senior Development Officer for the American Red Cross where he managed fundraising staff in states west of the Mississippi River. Gary also held several management and fundraising positions with the Boy Scouts of America in 35 Nebraska and Iowa counties.

- member of Keep Kids Alive: Drive 25 Foundation
Gary has been a Rotary member for 15 years. He is a frequent presenter at state, regional and national conferences. Gary is an Omaha native and graduated from Roncalli High School and the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. He takes over for Jim Hanson, Jr. owner of InTouch Communication, who has dedicated over ten years to the Foundation and will continue to serve in 2020 as Chairman Emeritus.

Supporting First Responders
Our mission is to serve and honor all our First Responders and their families, build appreciation and respect for their work and enhance public safety. We partner directly with police and fire departments in the greater Omaha area, and accomplish our mission by creating and supporting unique and educational programs and events, inspiring our community, and providing necessary resources and services to first responders and our citizens.
Donations to the First Responders Foundation support our key programs and provide additional funds for other initiatives for the police and fire departments. We work directly with police and fire departments to fulfill wish lists and prioritize resources so donations go where they are needed most.
