Now Hiring: State Licensed Therapist for Iowa
Position Summary
An IA state licensed therapist to work 40 hrs/week with first responders, couples and adolescents.
Job Duties
Provide mental health services to first responders and families to impact changes leading to growth and healing. Focus needs to include trauma. Specialties can include substance use, couples or children therapy.
Create and continuously review and update program participants’ symptoms and behaviors and adjust treatment/program and safety plan and required documentation accordingly.
Maintain accurate, electronic clinical records of services provided per established by foundation and HIPPA standards. Complete documentation within established timeframes, including collecting appropriate signatures, registration forms, etc. Sign off, discharge per program plan.
Timely completion of any provider enrollment forms and reports needed for third party payers or other outside entities.
Develop a positive working relationship with agencies throughout Iowa, including fire, EMS, law enforcement, corrections, dispatch, and medical personnel.
Assist in the promotion of First Responders Foundation mission, services, workshops, and trainings.

Must have excellent, verbal, and written communication skills, interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, organizational skills, ability to prioritize, time management skills, and above all an ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Awareness and sensitivity of the organization’s constituents and populations served by employees.
Ability to integrate cultural considerations into service delivery.
Ability to document using electronic health records.
Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software.
Ability to establish priorities appropriately for the position.
Participate in monthly clinical meetings, consultation, and routine clinical supervision.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance, and promptness for work.

Education and Experience
Master’s degree from an accredited university in a counseling that meets licensure requirements.
Valid Iowa or Nebraska Driver’s license, proof of liability insurance, and ability to drive for work.
Demonstrated skills and competencies to work with target population with a variety of behavioral health skills and modalities.
License Requirements
Must have an Iowa mental health or social work licensure to practice clinical work with IA population.
Dual licensure in Nebraska a plus.
Licensure must remain current and in good standing.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
A hybrid work environment (office and field setting, including zoom/telehealth, and office locations).
Reliable transportation (work-related travel between sites as needed).
Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, or on-call or as needed for client care, program demand, and supervisor request.
Occasional lifting of office items no more than twenty-five pounds.
